(After office hour, on the way home.)
Shinji was exceptionally joyful and holding Rei's hand as they walk. Others followed close behind.
Yapioko: Congratulation, Captain Narami and Rai.
Chyaku: (tried to avoid direct eyes' contact )Thanks.
Asuka: Promotion? So we should have a party tonight?
Matsuki: There is school tomorrow.
Horoshi: Where is the officer? Misato...
Rei: Having some meeting with commander.
Yapioko: So what did Ritsuko told you two today?
Horoshi: We will be doing some test tomorrow.
Matsuki: Activation test?
Asuka: Something like that.
(classroom)
The children entred, greeted by cheers from their classmates, including one on wheelchair, Kensuke.
Shinji: Kensuke!! When did you come back?
Kensuke: I was discharged yesterday.
Shinji: Your leg?
Kensuke: Don't worry, doctors said that the bones will get back soon. I'll be in the pilot seat again soon.
Shinji: You still want to pilot?
Kensuke: It has been my dream.
Shinji: But...
Kensuke: Don't blame yourself.
Shinji: Thank you, Kensuke.
(Next morning, school)
The gang walked into the school as usual. Touji greeted them. There have been rumor about him and Hikari being an item, he did not want to deny it. While their minds were stilled filled with laugher, a gang of 10 higher level boys approached them. They all looked well built.
boy1: (impolite) Hey, you all knows who am I?
Boy2: He is the new leader of the school.
Asuka: (whisper to Shinji) I might have forgotten many thing. But I'm sure he isn't any student leader.
Boy3: From now on, each of you have to pay us $500 per month, otherwise you are asking for trouble.
Touji: Get out of here.
Touji tried to push one of them away, so they will be able to reach the classroom. But he was immediately greeted by a slaps and punches and kicks. Chyaku caught him just in time to avoid him hitting the ground.
boy1: Forget about the money, cute babes. (He looked at the girls in the group) Just one night with us each month will do.
Horoshi wanted dash toward the "enemy", but before he could, Matsuki stood forward.
Matsuki: (pointing a finger at the leader of the gang, her tone remained soft and clam) You! You know who we are?
Boy5: Hot chicks...
Boy1 tried to touch Matsuki's face, but she moved away to avoid any contact. Boy2 tried to throw a punch at her, but she caught his fist. He screamed in pain as she applied pressure on the fist
Matsuki: I aren't in very good mood today.
In a matter of split second, she turned and throw the boy 5 meters away from their current location. The rest of the student body cheered (okie, add some wolf-whistles from the boys, which Chyaku did not appreciate).
Boy1: You will regret this.
He took out a knife from his pocket and launched a attack on Yapioko (any lowest intelligent being will tell you not to attack the girl who just threw another guy onto the ground), leaving a wound on her left hand.
Yapioko: Ouch!
Boy1: Oh my baby, your friend brought this upon you.
He swung the knife at Asuka. Asuka screamed in horror. Chyaku took out a handle from his pocket (The handle have a Nerv logo on the sides), pressed a button and a blade appeared. With that, he met the attacking knife of boy1. The knife of boy1 was cut into two nice pieces.
Boy1: What?
Chyaku point the blade toward his throat. The boy dropped the remain of his knife backed off. Chyaku, looked as if he is ready to kill, took a step forward as the boy took a step back.
Chyaku: I'm making you pay for hurting them.
The other gang member started to run in all direction. Boy1 dropped onto his knees.
Boy1: Don't kill me. I'm sorry. Forgive me.......please..please.
The pants of the boy was wet, out of fear more than anything else.
Yapioko: Let him go. He should have learnt his lesson.
Boy1: Yes...I've learnt.
Chyaku: How much have you collected? Just return everything to them. And don't you dare to create anymore problem in school.
Chyaku retreated his blade. The boy ran as fast as he could. The student body cheered (okie...maybe some "I love you" from the gals, which Matsuki did not appreciate) .
Chyaku: (Broke into a smile) Useless thingy. Are you all alright?
Asuka: Yea...Guess so. (pointing at the handle) What is that? No matter how sharp a knife is, cutting another knife is impossible
Rei: It is possible with progressive knife.
Chyaku: This is the basic weapon for Nerv ground defence force. It operate like a progressive knife, but smaller in size. This is a part of my SQ series., code name SQ-01.
Horoshi: Living up to the name of weapon specialist.
Chyaku: I've never let that name down. (in thought) I will not let you down, dad and mom.
(later that day, Nerv meeting room)
Fuyusuki sat on the Chairman's position, looking very nervous. Misato wasn't much better. Chyaku and Bright were busy looking at the computer, which display "escape plan". Matsuki was looked at another computer which display "counter measure". Yapioko and Ritsuko looked into the map of Nerv with every bit of concentration. The four pilots have nothing to do, so they made themselves useful by making coffee and tea.
Misato: That stupid Prime Minister. Why did he want to visit Nerv all of a sudden?
Chyaku: (concentrated on the screen) Precisely.
Fuyusuki: And the rebelled army are still hiding some where, what if they attack us?
Chyaku: (still concentrated on the screen) Precisely.
Matsuki: (printing out something from the printer) Then we will have to do this. (She handed Misato a piece of paper titled "counter-terrorist measure".)
Chyaku: (still very concentrated on the screen) Precisely.
Ritsuko: Are you trying to be funny?
Chyaku: Precisely.
Now he realised that he has been too concentrated on the screen, and isn't responding appropriately.
Chyaku: Sorry.....
Yapioko: EVAs are still our first priority.
Asuka: Precisely.
The room looked at her, but soon realised that there was nothing wrong with Asuka's respond.
Chyaku: (holding another two pieces of paper labeled "PM's safety escape plan" and "EVA pilot escape plan" respectively) Okie..done it.
Bright: The Nerv Ground Defense force are up and ready.
Makoto knocked on the door and came in.
Makoto: He's here.
Fuyusuki: Danm, he's early. Take your positions, we only have to show him the activation test of Horoshi and Asuka.
(Main gate, Nerv)
The car of the PM arrived. Bright and Fuyusuki greeted him. They took him to the announcement room, simulation lab, Weapon and Equipment lab and ....you know all those places. At last, they arrived at the lab where the activation test will be carried out.
(Activation test lab.)
EVA-02, EVA-14 and EVA-00 were in the test area. The control tower consisted of Maya, Aoba, Misato, Matsuki and Ritsuko. Bright and Fuyusuki entred with the PM.
Fuyusuki: (whisper to Matsuki) Why is Shinji in there?
Matsuki: (whisper) So that even if Asuka and Horoshi failed, we still have some result to show PM.
Fuyusuki nodded in agreement.
The PM looked quite surprised to see a teenager giving instruction for the test.
Matsuki: Connect main power.
Maya: Connected.
Matsuki: Insert entry plug......fill LCL. Asuka and Horoshi, stay clam.
Asuka's natural instinct told her to struggle, but she remembered the "rehearsal" hours earlier, so she stayed clam. Horoshi and Shinji behaved like professional.
Misato: (making sure that PM won't hear her) Luckily made them practice in LCL before, otherwise they will be struggling like mad now.
Maya: Activation phase 1 completed.
PM: So fast?
Maya: Still two more phases to go.
Matsuki: Continue with phase two.
Then, the room turned red, by the light. The word emergency flashing here and there.
Matsuki: What can go wrong at this phase?
Maya: There is nothing wrong with the EVAs.
Chyaku rushed into the room.
Chyaku: Bright. Terrorist....Rebelled army attack.
Misato: Worst came true....
Matsuki: Abort test. Get Rei, launch all EVAs into Tokyo-3 as soon as possible.
Chyaku: Mr. Prime Minister, we have to get you back to Tokyo-2.
Aoba: A plane is ready, please come with me.
Aoba set off with the PM.
Nerv officer: (Voice through wireless) The NGDF is battling the enemy in Level 3. Enemy have aircraft.
Misato: Air-craft. The PM.....
Bright: Get the Gundam pilots. Deploy them and escort the PM.
Misato: Where is Rei?
Matsuki: She is trapped in level 4.
Bright: All forces are used to fight the enemy. I'll go and get her out.
Matsuki: I'll go with you. Misato, evacuate all non-combat crew. Someone is missing...Where is Yapioko?
Ritsuko: Dun worry, she knows how to run.
Misato: Bright...
Bright gave Misato a kiss. Misato got the cross down from her neck, and gave it to Bright.
Misato: I'll always be with you.
Chyaku: I'm going to the armory to pick up something first.
Every in the rooms started running in different direction.
(Matsuki and Bright's side)
Both of them hided behind a wall was bullets fly pass them. Matsuki took out a pistol and unlock the safety switch. She rolled out and fire. Bright covered her from behind.
Matsuki: This is level 5. One more level to go
Bright: The enemy's weapon is too strong.
They turned behind another wall. Bright took out a grenade, labeled Nerv SQ-12.
Matsuki: SQ series?
Bright nodded. Then he dashed out and threw the explosive toward the enemy's group. Minute late, the whole passage was cleared. They took a stair which bring them to Level 4. They were again greeted by enemy fire. Matsuki tried to return fire with her hand gun, but to no effect.
Matsuki: (reloading) This won't work.
Bright: You think Rei is still safe, they seemed to have dominated the Level.
Matsuki: What is the defense force doing?
Bright: Our aim defending point is on the 6th level. I tell you what, I'll distract them, you try to get Rei.
Matsuki: (nodded) just Becareful.
Bright: (looking at the cross) I will.
Bright dashed out and turned into a corner as soon as possible. Miraculously, he was not hit. Matsuki took this opportunity to run for the place where Rei was.
Rebel: Stop!
Matsuki felt a cold sensation on her temple. A strong arm went around her neck.
Rebel: Where is the girl? The 1st child?
Matsuki: (in thought) Good, they have not found Rei yet.
Rebel: Say it. (he unlock his pistol)
Matsuki: Damn you.... (she closed her eyes)
A gun shot was heard. Matsuki realized that she was still alive. A unpleasant feeling of flowing blood replaced her fear. She looked up and caught sight of a laser dote, pointing at where the head of the rebel WAS. Rei was holding the laser guided rifle.
Matsuki: (cleaning off as much blood was possible) You know how to fire?
Rei: Chyaku just taught me. It wasn't that difficult.
Matsuki: Where is he?
Rei: Come with me.
*Flash Back*
(20minutes ago)
Chyaku appeared from a door with a sign "Armory" next to it. He was carrying a number of light and medium weapons, all of them marked with "SQ". 5 rebels were sighted, he held up a semi-auto rifle and cleared a bloody path for himself.
Chyaku: How do I go the Rei from here?
He ran through one of the many passage in Nerv, and spotted a enemy standing guard. He hided behind two dead bodies.
Chyaku: (in thought) Sickening! But what can I do?
He put on a silencer. Enemy's head, front aiming tip and the rear aiming tip formed a straight line. He pressed the trigger. He ran through another passage and climbed two levels.
Chyaku: (in thought) What is taking Matsuki and Bright so long?
He opened another door, hided behind it, and looked around. He saw three rebel surrounding something.
Rebel: First child found. Eliminate?
Rebel2: No, capture.
Chyaku moved close to them, without making too much noise. Rei spotted him, and screamed to make sure the rebel have all the attention on her.
Chyaku: (in thought) Smart girl...
Chyaku took out the hand-held progressive knife, jumped up from the ground and contact the man right at his brain. Another rebel pointed his gun at him, but Rei tackled him to prevent him from firing. To make her move complete, she picked up the rebel's rifle and squeezed the trigger. Tough luck for him, he just unlocked the safety switch minutes ago. The third one was dealt with easily by getting the knife into his chest.
Chyaku: (in thought) Oh man...This is even more sickening, but what else can I do?
Rei: Thanks.
Chyaku: My pleasure to protect my future sister-in-law...oh..never mind!! Forget about what I say. I've to get you to Unit-15.
Rei: (looked confused) sister what?
Chyaku: Forget it. Come with me.
Both of them started running. They spotted a mental chain hanging from the top.
Chyaku: Expressway to get us down.
Rei: What?
Chyaku: Jump onto the chain and hold tight, then slid down.
Rei: What.
Chyaku: Go!!!
Rei did as she was told. No one noticed her until she went all the way down. Chyaku followed, but as he was go down, a sharp shooter fired and cut the chain into two. Chyaku had no time to scream. He landed on his left shoulder. Fortunately, it was only one level. Rei dragged him into the nearest available room--which happened to be the female toilet.
Rei: Are you alright?
Chyaku: Don't think so. Something is wrong.
Rei: Can you move your arm?
Chyaku: Don't think so. I think it got dislocated.
Chyaku loaded all the weapons he have with him. He looked to Rei and began to unbutton his uniform.
Chyaku: Don't worry, I will not betray Shinji.
Sound was heard at the door.
Rei: It isn't a good sign.
Chyaku: (handing Rei a pistol) Use this.
Chyaku then gave her a quick lesson in using the weapon (which was impressive, considering his current status).
The door opened, Rei have the gun pointing at it. A man came in, Rei dropped her pistol. It was Bright. Chyaku forced himself to smile.
Chyaku: Take care of the pilot.
Then, Chyaku put his right hand on the left arm. He closed his eyes and begin to push his left arm back in position. A sound of friction between bones were heard.
Bright: How did you do that without screaming?
Chyaku: No time for that. Bright, chose a weapon come with me. Rei, go and get Matsuki to passage C-6.
*End of flash back*
The two girl ran into a passageway. Chyaku and Bright were both holding a light machine gun each.
Rei: This path will lead me to Unit-15 the launching bay.
Matsuki: I thought this is dead end?
Matsuki took out a cell phone.
Matsuki: (phone) Misato? Move all EVAs into launching position, Rei will arrive in a minute.
Bright planted explosive on the wall and ordered everyone to back off. The explosion went off and the wall was history of Nerv.
Chyaku: This really lead us to the bay. Come on, Rei, you have to go.
Rei: What about you three?
Bright: We have to continue our battle.
Matsuki: Just go..Rei, just come back alive.
Rei: I thought that was more for you?
Bright pushed Rei into the entry plug and went off.
(sky of Tokyo-3)
The plane with PM took off. 4 Gundams followed, they fired at the enemy's air craft to clear the way for the plane.
Seabook: That's too much.
F-91 fired the beam launcher twice and sent 9 enemy's plane to explosion.
Camille: Stupid crap....
Z-Gundam took out the beam Saber, squeezed between enemy fire and sent another 12 plane to explosion. Two fighter caught the Gundams off guard and closed in on the plane. Before they launched their missile, a large hand crushed them down. EVA-01 stood up to kill another 5 planes with the progressive knife.
Shinji: Asuka, 5 o'clock.
Asuka: How do I operate this??!!
Then a large explosion sent EVA-02 felling on the ground, destroying some enemy tanks in the process.
Asuka: All this looked familiar.
EVA-15 sprayed the sky with bullets with the machine gun, hitting some planes.
Rebel pilot: Shit! It is EVAs....What is this ? (a scream)
EVA-14 expanded an AT field and send the planes in the surrounding to the ground.
Asuka: What am I doing? Why am I down here. Wait....I know this thing.
Voice: Wake up, Asuka.
Asuka: Mum?
Asuka's mother: Yes.
Asuka: Yes. I remember now. This is my EVA unit. I shouldn't be on the ground. I'm the best, with mum protecting me.
EVA-02 jumped up from the ground and started throwing tanks and aircrafts around.
Shinji: Asuka!!
Asuka: Baka.....get back to the battle.
Rei: Welcome back, Asuka.
(Nerv, lab 2)
Yapioko was alone in the lab. 3 rebels came in, pointing a gun at her. The screen in the lab showed the battle outside.
Yapioko passed the three men a piece of paper. The three men read it and dropped their weapons, and saluted Yapioko. Yapioko returned the salute and sent them off.
(Nerv 2nd announcement room)
Makoto: Enemy is retreating.
Fuyusuki: Retreating all of a sudden?
Makoto: Yes. Why?
Misato: Something must be off, just Becareful.
(15 minutes later)
Maya: Enemy are completely out of Tokyo 3.
Misato: .....Retrieve all combat units. (in thought) It just aren't correct.
